Woodside Swing provides vintage swing dance opportunities in Spokane, WA. We teach Lindy Hop, Charleston, Collegiate Shag and Balboa. We have two regular weekly events: Thursday Evening Swing, on Thursdays 6:30-9:00 pm, and Monday night social practice, 7-9pm. Social practice is currently on hold pending a new venue.

Thursday Evening Swing

Join us at the Woman's Club of Spokane - 1428 W 9th Ave - for lessons and social dancing every Thursday night! We have two lessons every week, at the same time in different rooms - a drop-in lesson for first-time beginners and a progressive series for leveling up your dancing week to week. No partner or experience is necessary. Check our Facebook page or the calendar below for details on the specific lesson content for this week.

When you first come to Woodside Swing, you'll start out in the beginner drop-in class, learning basic six-count Lindy Hop. It'll be a similar lesson each week, starting with the basic step and adding different things on each time. Once you're comfortable with the beginner material, your next step should be a progressive class, ideally an eight-count Lindy Hop class. Most people should spend about three months in the beginner drop-in class before moving on to the progressive classes.

Social dancing 7:30pm-9pm
$10 for the lesson and the dance, or $5 for just the dance. $5 for students with student ID.
Register online for a month at a time for $35, and you get free entry to Jumpin' at the Woodside for the month too!

The Jumping Jackalope has moved out of their downtown location, and we are currently looking for a new venue for our weekly social practice. Stay tuned for more updates.

Swing Into Spring - Pi Day Edition

Join Woodside Swing for a special live-band swing dancing event on Pi Day, March 14, at the Woman's Club of Spokane, 1428 W 9th Ave!

We'll have intermediate and beginner Lindy Hop lessons from guest instructor Emma Kelly, followed by a social dance with live foot-tappin' tunes from the Max Quartet.

We have a special weekend of dancing and music coming up July 14-16 at the Woman's Club!
We're hosting live music from the Zonky Jazz Band and bringing in guest instructors Ben White and Elaine Buchignani from Seattle for a weekend of dances, jazz, workshops and more!
