Weekly Swing Dancing in Spokane

We have two regular weekly events: Thursday Evening Swing, on Thursdays 6:30-9:00 pm, and Monday night social practice, 7-9pm.

Thursday Evening Swing

Join us at the Woman's Club of Spokane - 1428 W 9th Ave - for lessons and social dancing every Thursday night! We have two lessons every week, at the same time in different rooms - a drop-in lesson for first-time beginners and a progressive series for leveling up your dancing week to week. No partner or experience is necessary. Check our Facebook page or the calendar below for details on the specific lesson content for this week.

When you first come to Woodside Swing, you'll start out in the beginner drop-in class, learning basic six-count Lindy Hop. It'll be a similar lesson each week, starting with the basic step and adding different things on each time. Once you're comfortable with the beginner material, your next step should be a progressive class, ideally an eight-count Lindy Hop class. Most people should spend about three months in the beginner drop-in class before moving on to the progressive classes.

Social dancing 7:30pm-9pm
$10 for the lesson and the dance, or $5 for just the dance. $5 for students with student ID.
Register online for a month at a time for $35, and you get free entry to Jumpin' at the Woodside for the month too!

Jumpin' at the Woodside - a Social Practice night on Mondays - is here for you to practice whatever you are working on! This is not quite a normal social dance - though you're welcome to use the space for dancing if you want. It's an environment where we can help each other upgrade our dancing by asking for feedback, working on moves, etc.Want some guided practice? There will be teachers around, and you can sign up at the door for a 10 minute mini private lesson! Even better: if you've registered online for our Thursday classes for the month, you can utilize this practice space for free!

Events

We have a special weekend of dancing and music coming up July 14-16 at the Woman's Club!
We're hosting live music from the Zonky Jazz Band and bringing in guest instructors Ben White and Elaine Buchignani from Seattle for a weekend of dances, jazz, workshops and more!
